Swantje Melchiors.
I graduated from the New Zealand College of Massage with a Diploma in Therapeutic Massage in 2003.
Using deep tissue, trigger point, relaxation, and myofascial release techniques with range of motion assessment, I look to discover the cause of functional issues and effect positive change.
My experience ranges from sports injury rehabilitation to relaxation and pregnancy massage. I am passionate about massage and body work and enjoy working with clients and their healthcare team to achieve desired results.
I love spending time with my family and friends and exploring our rivers, beaches and national parks on foot, by bike or by paddle. Some of my other interests are yoga, zumba, reading, music and the arts.

I completed my diploma in Therapeutic and Clinical Sports Massage from New Zealand College of Massage in 2006. Since then I have worked with numerous athletes and teams at the top of their game. I specialise in Sports Massage with an emphasis on breaking down and realigning muscle fibres by using deep tissue and trigger point techniques. In my sessions, I use a lot of active and passive movement techniques which helps to achieve the best results possible for you. I have also completed a Diploma in Exercise Science in 2011. I use the knowledge gained from this Diploma to help clients with muscle injuries by prescribing muscle strengthening and stretching programmes. This helps control muscle and postural imbalances.
I love the outdoor lifestyle Nelson has to offer, so in my spare time I mountain bike, kayak and paddle Waka Ama. With my experience I would love to help you get the most out of your outdoor activities.

I have a Diploma in Remedial Massage and will be completing my Bachelor of Sports and Therapeutic Massage in 2021. Although my qualifications are recent, it is a traditional culture in Japan that children give a massage to the elderly family, so my hands have been trained for a long time, and thankfully I have a natural talent of quality touch.
I call my style of massage a fusion massage, as I used the mixed techniques that I have learned from several places. My favourite techniques are deep tissue, myofascial release, trigger points and shiatsu pressure. You may find that my treatment is not always the same as I am always looking for the best approach to your condition and will modify it to suit, so your feedback is important to get the best outcome.
During the session, I am going to focus on your goals as I would like to see a smile on your face when you leave the clinic.
I enjoy travelling in my spare time. I'm also passionate about Argentine Tango. When I travel, I always take my shoes with me and enjoy meeting and dancing with tango friends around New Zealand and overseas.
